A sensor in form of a tuning fork is excited by a piezoelectrical element at its resonant frequency of 1300 Hz. The oscillating frequency or the amplitude changes as the fork enters the medium. The change is analyzed and translatedinto a switching signal. Free of calibration and maintenance. For all liquids, also if build-up, turbulence or air bubbles occur, unaffected by the electric properties of the medium.
