Positive Displacement flowmeters are extremely accurate flowmeters designed to measure the flow rate of clean liquids. Consisting of a measuring chamber with rotating gears, the meter precisely divides the volume being measured into segments which are counted on a local totalizer or transmitted electronically. PD meters as they are often referred to, provide accuracies of up to 0.5% of indicated flow rate and this accuracy improves as the liquid viscosity increases. Options include local mechanical counters, transmitters, and integral valves for batching.
