Magnetic Magnetic

Magnetic flowmeters are extremely accurate instruments which are suitable for measuring the flow rate of conductive liquids. Based on Faraday's law, they consist of a coil which generates a magnetic field around a non-conductive liner. The fluid being the conductor, generates a voltage proportional to the velocity of the fluid in the tube. This voltage is sensed by conductive electrodes mounted in the tube. The primary advantages of the magmeter is that it is has no moving parts, is obstructionless and has essentially no pressure drop. It is suitable for corrosive fluids as well as slurries and solids bearing liquids.
